Corona Hills Neighborhood
Corona Hills is arguably located in downtown Corona, California. However, many consider downtown corona directly to the southwest, centered around Main Street and Sixth Street and generally contained inside of the Grand Boulevard loop. Ironically, Corona Hills has twice the population of downtown Corona because it is dominated by residential housing instead of office buildings and civic centers.
Corona Hills is the second most walkable part of Corona, since you can walk to the local grocery store as well as restaurants. It received a walk score of 31. There is some public transit here. It gets a better than average (for Corona) bike score of 30. You’ll still need a car to get almost anywhere else.
McKinley Street passes through the middle of Corona Hills, while South Promenade parallels Riverside Highway. The Corona Hills Neighborhood covers both sides of Riverside Highway but is mostly north of Riverside. Buchanan Street serves as the northern border for the community.
This is a family-friendly neighborhood due to the relatively affordable single family homes and apartments here. There are also several mobile home parks in the area. That’s why you can buy a home for somewhere in the low 300s, though the market tops out at around 900,000 dollars. This area is roughly one third rentals, while two thirds of homes are owner-occupied. You can find one and two bedroom apartments and single family homes here.
Students can often walk to Promenade Elementary School. The Huntington Central Park Sports complex is a short distance to the northwest. That is next to McKinley Elementary School, and a few students in Corona Hills are assigned to it. All of the schools are part of the Corona-Norco Unified School District. Promenade Park is located in this neighborhood right off Promenade Drive. Rock Visa Park is just north of the neighborhood of Corona Hills.
