The Neighborhood Of Dominguez Ranch

Dominquez Ranch is home to a little over a thousand people. Some consider it part of the larger Sierra del Oro neighborhood, but we consider it large enough to be worth its own entry.

The average home owner is 49 years old. Nearly ninety percent of residents are home owners. This is the westernmost neighborhood on the south side of Highway 91. Green River Village and Green River Golf Course are on the other side of the highway. Green River Road passes along the northern edge of Dominguez Ranch before going under the highway and going through Green River Ranch.

Dominguez Ranch Road runs north to south in the subdivision. It dead ends into Green River Road. San Almada Road runs parallel to it through most of the neighborhood. That residential street is connected to Dominguez Ranch Road by San Ponte Road. The Fresno Canyon Trail starts near the intersection of Nicholas Place and Green River Road.

The most walkable part of the neighborhood is near the intersection of Dominguez Ranch Road and Green River. There are restaurants and other businesses in this area. Cross the railroad tracks north of Green River, and there are additional stores, manufacturing firms, and entertainment venues like The Rinks Corona Inline roller skating club. Prado Road can only be accessed from the Riverside Freeway access road unless you take it under the freeway into Green River. There, it connects to an access road that feeds into Green River Road.

San Ramon Drive connects to Oakridge Road. That eventually connects with Green River Road on the south side. This gives Dominguez Ranch residents a back way into Coronita. And it is the easiest way to get to Prado View Elementary School and Ridgeline Park.

Prado View Elementary School is the closest elementary school to Dominguez Ranch. However, children may be assigned to Cesar Chavez Academy. That is a K-8 school. Residents are assigned to Corona High School grades 9 through 12.

The homes in Dominguez Ranch are a step above those in Green River. Green River Village lets you park an RV for the summer or buy a mobile home for 100,000K. Dominguez Ranch has traditional three, four and five bedroom single family homes. Most of them were built in the 1980s and early 1990s. Properties range in value from 600K to 800K depending on size. Most if not all homes are part of an HOA. A majority of homes are in the 92882 zip code.

Dominguez Ranch is a car-dependent community. It received a walk score of 26. For comparison, the average walk score in Sierra del Oro is 29. It has a public transit score of zero. There are no bus routes in this suburban subdivision. There is more public transit in Sierra del Oro as you get closer to downtown. It has a few bike lanes, resulting in a bike score of 15. However, it has awesome hiking opportunities due to the trails along the Santa Ana River. Chino Hills State Park is just north of Highway 91.
