The Neighborhood Of Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park is a neighborhood in Corona, California. It is also the name of the neighborhood around said park. Lincoln Park is located on Lincoln Avenue. The neighborhood is sometimes called Lincoln and Ontario, because it is centered around the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Ontario Avenue. And that intersection is where East Ontario Avenue becomes West Ontario Avenue.

This urban neighborhood has roughly seven thousand residents. It is full of older homes. Nearly ninety percent of residents own their homes. According to the 2010 census, the average resident was 48 years old. There are apartments in the area, including Lincoln Park Apartments. There is quite a bit of affordable housing in the neighborhood. One form is the mobile home park near the intersection of Eighth Street and Grant Avenue.

Most students are assigned to Vicentia Elementary School, though some are assigned to Arlanza Elementary School and Liberty Elementary School. Liberty gets points for having pre-K. Students may be sent to Letha Raney Intermediate School or Corona Fundamental Intermediate School. Students are sent to Corona High School. Corona High School is directly north of the neighborhood. Residents are within a one mile radius of Corona Christian School; that private religious school is next door to John Adams Elementary School. Grace Lutheran School is about a mile away, as well. If you took Sixth Street three miles east, you’d reach CCFS Charter School in the Home Gardens neighborhood.

Downtown Corona and the circular Grande Boulevard are to the northeast. The area is a five minute drive from the North Main Corona commuter rail. The area has a public transit score of 19. There are bus routes along West Sixth Street and South Lincoln Avenue. The area gets a bike score of 45 because there are bike paths in the area to the various schools and into downtown. The area has a relatively high walk score of 33 because you can walk to the Plaza on Sixth Street strip center and several retail centers on Sixth Street at major intersections. For comparison, the average walk score is 50, but that’s rarely possible outside of densely built areas like downtown Corona.

Lincoln Park is a five acre park in Corona. It has standard amenities like playgrounds, picnic tables and restrooms. Unlike some other Corona, California parks, it has a jogging trail. The neighborhood has many parks aside from the namesake Lincoln Park. There are many parks large and small like Brentwood Park, Ontario Park and Border Park. Brentwood Park covers more than ten acres. It has additional features like volleyball courts and basketball courts. Ontario Park is a small five acre park with playgrounds, softball fields and basketball courts. Border Park is relatively small. It only covers two acres. This is enough for a playground, volleyball court and modest picnic area. These are all within two miles of the center of Lincoln Park. Santana Regional Park with its skate park is about two miles away. You’re ten miles from the Hidden Valley Nature Center. Chino Hills State Park is four miles away.
