James Wellman

James is a seasoned trial attorney with four decades of continuous active practice in California. James began his legal career with one of the nation’s largest law firms, gaining experience in the civil law fields of professional malpractice, insurance bad faith, construction defect and appellate work. James was a key attorney in a California published appellate court decision and has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th District. While having a breadth of experience in the civil law arena, James ultimately found his calling in the world of family law litigation. Over the years, James has attained the CFLS designation and has been the managing attorney of two prominent firms devoted exclusively to the representation of family law clients in the Orange County area. James has been lead trial counsel on the full array of family law contested matters in court including dissolution of marriage involving custody contests, property division issues, child and spousal support matters, attorney fee conflicts, domestic violence restraining order matters, undisclosed asset litigation post judgment and juvenile court cases.
