The City Of Corona

Corona, California is one of the westernmost cities of the Inland Empire. It is just south of Norco and is part of a unified Corona-Norco school district. Riverside sits to the northeast. Yorba Linda is northwest along with Chino Hills. The Santa Ana Mountains and Cleveland National Forest form the southwestern border of the city. There are a number of canyons that border various neighborhoods in Corona, and you can take a number of small roads straight up into the mountains.

This makes it a popular stopping point for visitors going hiking or biking in the mountains. Everywhere else, you’re probably going to need a car. The city has some public transit passing through downtown. It has an average walk score of 38 and a bike score of 35. While you may enjoy the mountain trails, there aren’t many bike lanes. You’ll find most of those near Main Street and Sixth Street. However, nearly everything around Grand Avenue is walkable and bikeable as long as you don’t have to cross Highway 91.

Corona is sometimes called Circle City because Grand Boulevard in downtown Corona forms a loop around most of the municipal buildings. The city was originally called South Riverside to distinguish it from the original Riverside, California. Today, it is considered a suburb of Los Angeles.

The city has a long agricultural history. It was once a Lemon Capital of the World. A lot of this is captured in the Corona Heritage Park and Museum. This is also home to a model railroad society. You could also visit Tom’s Farms. You can do everything from taking pony rides to shop their farmer’s market to go shopping for furniture. On weekends, you will probably be able to take in a live music show or visit their craft fair.

This rural area has been transformed into a mostly suburban town. It is home to roughly 150,000 people, while several thousand more live in unincorporated areas like El Cerrito. This has led to more modern amenities like half a dozen golf courses, the Skull Canyon Zipline, and the Fender Guitar Visitor Center. You can hit a trampoline park or the gun range.
